Bring Water to the Mountain: Help Us Drill Wells in Haiti

In 2004, I climbed Mount Binard in Haiti alongside the CEO of Water for Life.

The people living on the mountain believed they had a spring—a small basin of water that sustained their daily needs. But after examining it, he told me something I have never forgotten:

“This is not a spring. This is rainwater.”

It was only rainwater trapped temporarily on the rock. It had no underground source. No permanence. No guarantee. A few months without rain, and the basin would completely dry up. An entire community was living on borrowed water.

Then came the second revelation: the heavy drilling trucks could not reach the mountain. There was no road—only a narrow goat path.

At that moment, standing on that mountain, a vision was born. If the remote communities of Haiti were ever to have reliable access to clean water, we would need our own drilling rig—one capable of reaching the most difficult, isolated places.

For twenty years, that vision lived in prayer.

From Vision to Reality

Today, by God’s grace, that prayer has become a reality.

Grace Corps now has its own specialized well-drilling rig. During our most recent mission to Haiti, we successfully drilled our first well. Clean water flowed, and a community was instantly transformed. Children, families, and churches now have reliable access to safe, clean drinking water.

Because we own the equipment, we can complete this work for $8,000 per well—nearly half the $15,000 cost typically charged by large international organizations.

But today, our drill stands ready while other communities continue to wait. We urgently need partners to help us keep moving.

The Place Where It All Began: Binard—the very mountain where this vision was born twenty years ago—still has no well. The villagers have widened the mountain path by hand as much as they can, but it will still cost an additional $2,000 just to transport our equipment to the summit.

Exactly $2,000 stands between an entire mountain community and permanent clean water.

How You Can Partner With Us

This mission is not merely humanitarian; it is spiritual. When clean water flows, waterborne disease drops, children can stay in school, families regain dignity, and local churches are strengthened. Water opens the door to Gospel hope.

Every gift, regardless of size, brings us closer to the next well. Here is exactly what your investment can do:

  • $50 – Sponsors 10 feet of drilling progress

  • $150 – Provides essential drilling components and materials

  • $300 – Sponsors the heavy piping needed to reach deep underground water

  • $500 – Helps fund local technician wages and fuel transportation costs

  • $1,000 – Sponsors the installation of a heavy-duty well pump

  • $2,000 – Clear the path to Binard, the mountain community that started it all

  • $4,000 – Sponsor half a well to transform a village

  • $8,000 – Sponsor a full, complete well and provide clean water for generations

Looking to make a larger impact? Consider becoming a Vision Partner to help us raise funds toward acquiring a second drilling rig, effectively doubling our capacity to reach isolated villages.

We Are Ready.

We have the drill. We have the trained team. We have the communities waiting. What we need now are the partners to send us forward.

Scripture reminds us:

“Whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones… will certainly not lose their reward.” — Matthew 10:42

Please pray for Grace Corps—for protection, provision, and open doors. And if God places it on your heart, please give generously today.

Together, we can bring water to the mountain. Together, we can bring life.
